Head of Paid Search

We’re on the lookout for a Head of Paid Search, responsible for the management, performance and growth of the paid search team and service offering. 

Reporting to the Head of Digital, your role will be to lead the brand portfolio across multiple paid search platforms including Google and Bing, lead service development and have an integrated understanding of the paid search industry and how to keep the service offering at the forefront so it is constantly delivering ROI.

This is a very cooperative role, requiring good relationships with clients and colleagues alike to ensure client needs are being considered cross-departmentally.

You will be responsible for the creation and implementation of PPC strategy and the setting of campaign KPIs. You and your team will build, analyse, optimise and report on campaigns across multiple clients and will work proactively to deliver such campaigns on time and on budget.

Located in both Manchester and Teesside sits a collaborative paid search team who are in need of a new leader - someone who can grow the function and deliver cutting-edge paid search strategies for our clients.

What you’ll be doing:

This position will involve working closely with clients and internal staff on Paid Search strategy, helping clients understand how Paid Search can be part of their marketing mix and how it can sit alongside wider digital campaigns.

Main duties & responsibilities include:

  • Managing a number of paid search campaigns

  • Creating tailored strategies, builds, and audits

  • Handling specific budgets

  • Regularly liaising with clients to inform and manage expectations

  • Working on growing the service and influencing the direction

  • Ensuring campaigns are successfully integrated across multiple channels

  • Working closely with other internal teams

  • Analysis & reporting on PPC campaigns using AdWords, Google Analytics & Excel

Key competencies for the role also include:

  • At least 5 years experience in a PPC role heavily involved in managing client budgets

  • High-level numerical and analytical skills with expertise in Google Ads and Analytics

  • Ability to keep up to date with the latest industry news, developments, and best practices

  • Strong interest in paid search marketing and the wider media industry

  • Ability to work as part of a team to deliver best in class campaigns

  • Excellent time management and organisation skills

  • Commercial awareness with a results-driven approach to working - the ability to drive strong ROI through a number of PPC metrics

  • A positive, hardworking and entrepreneurial attitude with excellent time management skills coupled with the ability to foster strong relationships at all levels

  • A detailed understanding of how marketing decisions affect the commercial elements of a client’s business

  • Cross-discipline understanding. Awareness of how an individual specialism interacts with other channels
